“Smushy” is an adjective most likely to be used by tiny people under the age of 8, however, there’s not really a better word we could use to describe this example of typography mastery. This spectacular demonstration of fluid deflation of the 3D modeled text is just of the many shapes, sizes and forms that can be rendered by “Hot Type“.
This project is a collaborative effort between Motion Designer Andrej Todorovski and Type Designer Marko Hrastovec, both based in Zagreb, Croatia. Their primary goal was to explore the kinetic potential of fonts, crafting each motion piece to harmonize with the font’s inherent traits. Beyond this creative exploration, the project also aimed to inject an element of enjoyment and fun into the process. Check out much more below.
